Do you wish to set up a simple website for your artwork, but don't know where to start? Are you overwhelmed by the many options available? Does the idea of producing and updating your own website cause you anxiety? We're here to help!
Website instructor and MNWCA member Lisa Truax will demonstrate how to create beautiful, stress-free websites using available platforms. She'll compare current website template applications with varying degrees of difficulty and features, including Weebly, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Google Web Designer, and WordPress. In a tiered lecture room with a large screen you will be able to view these website programs and learn the advantages of each, including their costs, learning curve, flexibility, and options. Lisa will review registering your own domain and the range of services and security offered. You will learn to prepare your images for website publication. Photoshop is the most common software for image preparation, but free options such as Gimp will be demonstrated.
After this one-hour presentation, we will move to a hands-on computer lab with 16 stations and helpers to learn in small groups to try out website design platforms and edit/format your images. You'll be able to roam between stations, ask questions, and get specific help from ceramic artists who understand your needs.
Bring your laptop to get personal help! If this workshop doesn't solve your needs, tell us what you want, and we will follow-up with more offerings, Or, find others here to partner with, and continue on as a team. Sign up today! Members: $30, nonmembers: $40.
