In this workshop, Gail will demonstrate the techniques used to construct the various hand-built pottery forms she makes: teapots, tea caddies, platters, plates, and more. Gail constructs everything from soft slabs and coils using paper templates, bisque molds, and a few simple tools. She will demonstrate surface techniques with the use of slip, sgrafitto, and ‘tattooing’. A brief ‘hands-on’ project will be presented for participants to work directly with templates, clay and slip to construct a plate or dish.
